7 Vegan Movie Snack Ideas Perfect for Your Slumber Parties

Must read

A movie night for your slumber parties with your friends can be a great bonding experience on the weekend. A night where you can sit and lie down as you watch your favorite feel-good or exciting movies with your friends while you munch on your snacks is a great way to break free from all your stresses in your adult life, such as work, chores, and bills. It is much more comfortable and inexpensive to do in your own home.

But sometimes, thinking about what to offer your friends for a healthy, guilt-free plant-based recipe for finger food can be challenging. So ensure you prepare classic movie snacks for your non-vegan friends and family. Luckily, we have prepared a list of recipes for you to prepare that are easy, simple, and hearty.

Savory Snacks

What is a movie snack that does not satisfy our savory cravings? Why fill your carts with those unhealthy chips in the groceries when you can create these simple recipes in the comfort of your own home?

Here are some recipes that can easily be made for or with your friends that are stress-free and can be a great bonding moment with your friends as you prepare the snacks with them.

  1. Vegan Spicy Black Bean Nachos

A movie night would not be complete without nachos. We have prepared you a healthy recipe that would not consist of cheese. Place your chips on your plate and top it off with spiced black beans for some meatiness and cherry tomatoes for an incredibly fresh and juicy flavor. You can squeeze some lemon on it to give you that extra taste. Make sure to put on a big bowl to have some for yourself!

2. Onion Kale Chips

Are you still craving some salty chips? Onion Kale Chips are a great vegan alternative to satisfy your cravings! You may wash your leaves and dry them out completely. Sprinkle on some cheesy nutritional yeast, onion powder, and a hint of chili powder to get that ordinary chip flavor.

Put it on your pan with enough space so the leaves would not be cramped. Be careful not to overbake your kale chips. When it becomes brown, it becomes bitter. But not to worry! You can take your chips out of your oven when green and soft in the center. The kale leaves will continue to crip up when you let them cool for a while.

3. Air Fried Popcorn Tofu

Working with tofu on meals can become intimidating. But this air-fried popcorn tofu is a simple finger food you can easily make without the mess of using your air fryer!

Just like how you work with your usual preparations for tofu meals, press down on your tofu to get the excess liquid out — it helps if you get extra firm tofu. You may tear your tofu into bite pieces to get that nugget-like texture you cannot achieve when cutting with a knife. Next, you can prepare your dipping bowls.

Don’t worry if you have only been a vegan for a while. The ingredients may already be in your cupboards. You may mix flour, cornmeal, mustard, garlic, onion, nutritional yeast, salt, pepper, no-chicken bullion, and unsweetened non-dairy milk. Mix it to combine and to get the pancake batter consistency.

You can add more of your milk to thin it out. Prepare your panko crumbs in another bowl. Dip your tofu in the batter and then the panko crumbs. Put it straight into your air fryer and fry them for 6 minutes at 360F. Make sure to cook them evenly.

4.  Roasted Chickpeas

Chickpeas are versatile, and anyone can use them for meals and snacks. A great way to test this is to roast them in your oven. You can add your favorite spices that fit your taste. Though we recommend you dust them with fragrant spices such as turmeric, paprika, and a little bit of chili powder. You can cool them down for a while in a bowl and pop them right into your mouth.

Sweet Snacks

Need to boost your energy as you watch the movie to keep yourself awake? Craving for some sweet treats without feeling guilty? We got you. Here are some recipes we have prepared to satisfy your sweet tooth.

5. Dried Fruits

Why look for some sweets covered with many sugary components when you can go natural and be healthy with dried fruits? Go to your local market and get your hands on a mango, banana, apple, a handful of strawberries, and a half of a pineapple. Wash and chop your fruits into thin slices and lay them on parchment paper. Bake it in your oven at 200F for 3 to 5 hours.

It is important to note that the juicier and thicker a fruit is, the longer it will take to dry. You can adjust the settings to fit your desired consistency. Once done, present it to your friends and let them enjoy nature’s candy.

It will be a great way to snack on something organic, healthy, and accessible. It may take a long time to cook, but it will surely be worth the wait once you get your hands on these dried fruits.

6.. Almond and Peanut Butter Popcorn

Craving for the usual caramel popcorn? You can try this healthier alternative to satiate yourself, and this recipe can satisfy you without letting you consume too much sugar.

Preheat your oven to 200F and prepare to lay your parchment paper on your baking tray. Heat a tablespoon of coconut oil in a large saucepan, then add your kernels. Proceed to cook your popcorn as usual. Once done, set your popcorn aside to cool it down as you prepare your peanut butter.

Melt your peanut butter with your desired amount using the pan you have used. Whisk it with the remaining coconut oil left from earlier and add maple syrup to your liking. Add your unsweetened non-dairy milk and almond flakes and pour them on your popcorn. Add the almond flour and coat all your popcorn evenly.

Pour your popcorn into your baking tray and spread them evenly. Bake it for 45 minutes and toss it to prevent it from burning. Be careful not to overcrowd your tray.

What is good about this recipe is that you can store this in an airtight jar at room temperature for a couple of weeks, so you do not waste anything! But given that it is almost as addicting as your favorite caramel popcorn, we doubt you will still have some left once the movie ends.

7. Raw Cookie Dough Bites

You would not have to use your oven for this recipe; it only takes 5 minutes to create these guilt-free munchies.

Put your raw cashews, oats, cinnamon, and salt into your food processor. Pulse all the ingredients until they look like coarse crumbs, and then add your maple syrup and vanilla extract to your liking. Continue to pulse all the ingredients to mix them well together and form the dough into small bite-sized balls. Of course, add your vegan chocolate chips to it to get that cookie dough savory sweetness!
